Manchester has a plentiful supply of accommodation to suit all price brackets, and cater for the businessman as well as the tourist or football fan that is up for some warm hospitality. In the suburb of Sale, you can find the Sharks Rugby Union Club here, as well as the Sale Water Park not far away. At Old Trafford, you can visit the Lancashire County Cricket Club as well as the most impressive Manchester United Football Club and Museum. Manchester can boast to be the biggest football Club in the world, and if you have come here to see a good game of football, then you will not be disappointed. A Roman outpost was built here during AD79, and it was called Mancunium. The remains of this fort are at Castlefield. The city centre of Manchester has been given a new lease of life and has a major shopping area to rival anywhere in Britain. The Triangle has some great designer clothes shops, as well as Giant, and Molton Brown all under one roof. Top class shops such as Marks and Spencers, which is the largest store in all of Europe, and the spacious Exchange Square give one great access to all the major department stores. The Arndale Centre and the Market Street area has some great shops like Top Shop, Dolcis, Next , Virgin and Boots. One can take a cruise on a barge down the river and bring the family along in great comfort. One can also take a tram from Castlefield to Heaton Park, and there is a great expanse of Parkland here, with a mini train for the kids to travel across the park, showing off the beautiful Hall and farm. The city centre of Manchester has a great range of places to dine in, with the likes of award winning restaurants, to greasy spoon cafes, one has a great choice. Rusholme is the large Asian part of town with the best restaurants in all of England at very reasonable prices. The Curry Mile is located around here at Wilmslow Road and has some great restaurants like the Sangam and the traditional family run Tandoori Kitchen which serves up some great Indo- Iranian cuisine. |
