Staying in Manchester


Manchester has a plentiful supply of accommodation to suit all price brackets, and cater for the businessman as well as the tourist or football fan that is up for some warm hospitality. Whether one wants to stay in the city centre close to all the main amenities, or else one wants to stay over on the outskirts away from it all and rather close to the pleasant countryside. The suburbs of Manchester are very accommodating and there is also some hotels located close to Manchester Airport.
There is some great inexpensive pub accommodation in the centre of the city that would not be too far from Victoria Station.
Close to Piccadilly Station, you can find some traditional family run hotels in the area.
For more quality hotels that offer very reasonable rates, head out to the suburbs like Chorlton, or Didsbury, which is 15 minutes by taxi, and offers some great family run hotels around Barlow Moor Road in West Didsbury, or else Harphury, which is just a mile away from the city centre and has some great guest houses offering great value.
Portland Street has some great hotels and is just around the corner from Chinatown and near enough to all the entertainment centres as well as some great bars and nightclubs.
The suburbs of Bramhall and Prestbury are very posh and one could bump into some of the professional footballers or captains of industry out this part of the countryside.
Canal Street in the centre of Manchester has some gay friendly accommodation in the heart of the Gay Village.
There are some fine four-star hotels around the Castlefield area and close to Salford Quays, as well as on Oxford Road. The surrounding countryside is quite spectacular with some really attractive scenery around Peak District National Park and the Southern Pennine Hills.
